Effect of TiB₂ Content on Arc Erosion Resistance of TiB₂/Cu Composites

TiB2/Cu composites with different TiB2 contents were fabricated by powder metallurgy method. The effect of TiB2 content on arc erosion resistance of TiB2/Cu composites was studied through JF04C electrical contact material testing system. The arc erosion morphology of composites was observed by SEM. The results show that the arc energy of the composites increased, both arc erosion resistance and surface arc erosion melting degree of the composites reduced with the increase of TiB2 content.
