Effects of Milling Time and Sintering Temperature on Properties of Mo-Cu Alloy Prepared by Sintering
-
Abstract
The compact Mo-18%Cu alloy was prepared by mechanical alloying and H2 atmosphere sintering. The effect of milling time on particle size and morphology of the compound powders and sintering temperature on mechanical properties and fracture morphology of the sintering body were investigated by means of particle size analyzer,XRD and SEM.The results show that the particle size of the powders decreased with the prolongation of milling time, while the morphology and the phase composition were reasonable. The best milling effect could be obtained after milled for 60 h.The density and mechanical properties of the sintering body, prepared with the mixed powders milled for 60 h, increased first and then decreased with the increase of the sintering temperature. The best properties could be obtained after sintered at 1 350℃ for 2 h,that the relative density, bending strength and hardness of the sintering body were 98.6%,581 MPa and 64 HRC,respectively.
