Effects of Forging Process and Following Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of TC11 Titanium Alloy

    • The effects of conventional forging, special forging and following heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of TC11 titanium alloy were analyzed. The results show boasketweave microstructure could be obtained after TC11 titanium alloys were forged by special forging at 950 ℃, and the mechanical properties of as-forged and as-heat-treated titaniun alloy were better than conventional forging (equiaxed microstructure). For the two kinds forging, the mechanical properties of titanium alloy forged at 950 ℃ were better than that of at 980 ℃ (equiaxed microstructure); Knitting structure which was obtained by special forging at 950 ℃ combined with high temperature hormogenizing teratiment and double annealing treatment showed good combination of strength and plasticity.
