Characterization and Analysis of Unknown Powder Adhereing to the Retaining Ring of a Large-scale Generator Rotor

Abstract

Abstract

The unknown powder adhering to the retaining ring of a 600 MW generator rotor was characterized and analyzed by SEM,EDS,Raman spectroscopy,XRD,FTIR and TGA.The results show that the unknown powder is mainly alkyd resin which came from the insulated oil paint coated on the surface of the rotor.
