Preparation and Properties of Porous Superalloy Materials with Hollow Spherical Pores

    • The porous superalloy material with hollow spherical pores was fabricated by means of metal powder sintering using nickel-base superalloy powders. The optimum sintering processing parameters of this kind of material were defined to be sintering at 1 200 ℃,holding for 1 h and subsequent furnace cooling.Structure observation revealed that the pores of the porous material containing organic substance exhibited a uniform distribution, and the apertures were of same size in principle. The biscuit of porous metal was sintered and the sintering necks between adjacent prills were created at metal skeleton after sintering. The porosity of the porous material increased with increasing the addition of pore forming agent, and the porous material with a porosity of 81.62% could be obtained when the content of pore forming agent was 40%.The compression test indicate that this kind of material possess excellent energy absorption capability, and the compression resistance decrease with the increasing of porosity and aperture.
