    Thermal Mechanical Coupled 3D Finite Element Analysis of Rolling Process with Elastic Roller

    • To obtain the stress and temperature of the roller and workpiece in the steel rolling process,commercial FEM program LS-DYNA had been used to analyze the parallel rolling process and the approach was based on three dimensional thermal mechanical coupled finite element method under the condition of using elastic roller.The construction of FEM model,material parameters,boundary conditions and loading in the simulation were expatiated in details.The couple-field result shows that the surface of the roller in the area of contact is in the state of three-dimensional compression stress.Shear stress manifests alternative phenomena on the plane is vertical to roller axis;the result that the surface temperature of the roller changes periodically is also obtained.
