    • The conditions and techniques of ultrafine-grained Mg alloys fabricated by severe plastic deformation (SPD) are systematically described.Principle,character and application of three SPD techniques are reviewed.Strength and superplasticity of ultrafine-grained Mg alloys are also discussed.The bright prospects and directions of high strength high toughness Mg alloys fabricated by severe plastic deformation have been indicated.
