Effect of Fe-B Alloy and Mo on Sintering of Steel Based Carbide
-
Abstract
The effect of Fe-B alloy and Mo on sintering of steel based carbide is reviewed.Fe-B alloy is beneficial to lowering the sintering temperature of steel based carbide and to restraining abnormal growth of hard phase grains.Mo2FeB2 with excellent mechanical properties can be obtained through reaction between Mo and brittle hard phase Fe2B generated during eutectic reaction, which can alleviate the problem that Fe2B induces the decrease of mechanical properties of steel based carbide. The content of Fe-B in raw material of hard alloy and the optimal sintering temperature of hard alloy with Fe-B should be studied in the future.
