Properties and Preparation of Transparent Porcelain Powders

Abstract
The transparent porcelain powders were prepared by melt water-quenched method. The phase structure, thermal expansion coefficient, biocompatibility of the powders and mechanical property of the porcelain fused to metal prepared by transparent porcelain powders were investigated respectively. The results show that the self-made transparent porcelain powders were non-crystalline. Their thermal expansion coefficients were between 1.1×10-5 ℃-1 and 1.3×10-5 ℃-1. The biocompatibilities of self-made transparent porcelain powders were similar to that of songfeng porcelain powders. The mechanical property test showed that the bending strengthes of porcelain fused to metal prepared by self-made transparent porcelain powders were higher than that of natural dental, which could meet clinical requirements.
