    Microstructure and Properties of RE-Boronizing Layer with Pre-coating Rare Earths Coating

    • Normal boronizing, RE-boronizing and boroning with pre-coating RE-coating were carried out on Q235 steels surface separately, the microstructure with different processes were observed by optical microscopy, microhardness and wear resistance of different boronizing layers were tested. The results show that comparison with normal boronizing and RE-boronizing, the more compact and uniform Fe2B single-phase boronizing layer on Q235 steel surface could be obtained by boroning with pre-coating RE-coating, its hardness increased obviously and the hardness distribution and wear resistance were improved distinctly.
