Effect of SiC Content on Wear Properties of SiCp/Cu Composite Fabricated by Injection Molding

    • The SiCp/Cu composite was prepared by powder injection molding. The effect of SiC content on the wear rate was researched. The wear mechanism was analyzed. The results show that the wear rate decreased with the increase of SiC content in the composite.Adhesive wear was the main form when the SiC content was 3vol% and 6vol%.Adhesive wear became unconspicuous gradually while abrasive wear became dominant with the increasing SiC content. The abrasive wear was the main form when the SiC content was 9vol%.A mechanical mixed layer on the friction surface was formed when the SiC content was 12vol%,and the main wear form was the abrasive wear and the adhesive wear was unconspicuous gradually.
