    M42 PM High Speed Steel/45 Steel Bimetal Composite Fabricated by Spark Plasma Sintering

    • M42 powder metallurgy high speed steel (PM HSS) and PM HSS/45 steel bimetal composite were one step prepared by spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique.The interface morphology and bonding strength between 45 steel and M42 PM HSS were analyzed.The results show that the composite joint had uniform and dense microstructure,when the SPS was performed at 970 ℃ for 10 min under 70 MPa.The composite was metallurgical bonding and the bonding strength was up to 550 MPa.
