Edge Crack Analysis of Cold-Rolled Low Carbon Steel Sheet

The edge crack of cold-rolled low carbon steel sheet were analyzed by means of optical microscope, scan electron microscope, tensile test machine and the shape measuring of hot-rolled strip. The results show that the perfect recrystallization in the part of hot-rolled sheet did not occur, which led to the edge cracking of cold-rolled steel sheet because of the diferent deformation resistance in non-recrystallization and recrystallization regions in cold rolling.
