Heat Treatment Improvement of Martensite Stainless Steel Receivers Used in Vehicle Scale

Abstract
In order to improve the fatigue life of 2Cr13 martensite stainless steel receivers used in vehicle scale,the failure characteristics and stress profile of the receivers were investigated by microstructure analysis and finite element calculation.The improvement effect induced by new heat treatment process was compared with the original one by mechincal property test,stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) test and fatigue test.The results showed that the poor SCC resistance and strength-ductility of original 2Cr13 receivers resulted from improper heat treatment.With modified heat treatment process,the SCC sensibility index of 2Cr13 reduced from 51.1% to 114%.The comprehensive mechanical properties of 2Cr13 receivers had been substantially improved.New heat treatment process can meet the requirements of design and application of receivers.
