    Stucture and Properties of Porous NiTi Shape Memory Alloys Fabricated by Low Pressure Sintering

    • Porous NiTi shape memory alloys(SMAs) were successfully prepared by low pressure sintering(LPS).The structure and properties of the porous NiTi SMAs sintered for different times were studied and compared with those of samples fabricated by vacuum sintering.The resucts show that the porous NiTi SMAs produced by LPS with three-dimensionally interconnected pores had the isotropic pore structure,whose pore size was about 50~200 μm.The porous NiTi SMAs produced by LPS also exhibited good mechanical properties,such as superior superelasticity and a higher compressive strength.
