    Structure and Mechanical Properties of Al-1%Si Bar Material Prepared by Electromagnetic Continuous Casting

    • The electromagnetic continuous casting(EMCC) and direct chill continuous casting (DCC) methods were used to make Al-1%Si alloy,respectively.The crystal structure and mechanical properties were analyzed.Compared with DCC,EMCC ingots have more fine size of grain and the element Si distributed uniformly;the hardness,tensile strength and elongation are increased by about 6%,7.2% and 21.2% respectively;the dimple of fracture face is deeper;the toughness is higher;and there are numerous slip lines.
