Preparation of Supported Nano-TiO2 Expanded Graphite/Activated Carbon Composite and Its Properties

    • Using expanded graphite(EG)/activated carbon composites (EGC) as substrate and sucrose as raw material through introducing carbon coated nano-TiO2,supported nano-TiO2 expanded graphite/activated carbon composites (TiO2/EGC) were prepared. The micro-morphology,pore structure and related properties of the TiO2/EGC were characterized by using SEM,TEM,XRD and BET.The results show that there were micron-sized large pores as absorption channel and nanometer cells as the body for the selected enrichment and organic compounds absorption in the EGC substrate. The specific surface area of the EGC was 1 579 m2·g-1 which was about 40 times higher than that of the EG.After the loading of nano-TiO2,the decrease of the specific surface area of the material was slight, while the absorption ability increased. The TiO2 coated carbon film mainly distributed on the substrate surface uniformly,no obvious agglomerates were observed and the loading was very firmly.TiO2 could improve the phenol treatment ability for the EGC when using the phenol as target decomposition material.
