    The Performance of Non-asbestos Assorted Fibers Reinforce Metal Spiral Gasket

    • Inorganic fiber,together with polyester fiber and aramid alpha pulp at some ratio was chosen,to instead asbestos.The preferable non-asbestos assorted fibers reinforce paper was manufactured and non-asbestos metal spiral gasket was obtained.The compressive property and recovery from compression and sealing property of metal spiral gaskets were tested.Results indicate compressive property is affected by fiber’s types and mass fraction.Increased fiber,compressive property is decreased and recovery from compression is increased.Compared to asbestos metal spiral gaskets,the manufactured non-asbestos paper could instead of asbestos to produce metal spiral gaskets.
