Influence of Casting Parameters on Temperature Distribution of Direct Chill Casting of Superlight LA141 Alloy Slabs

Abstract
The matching of casting parameters during the direct chill (DC) casting process is very important.The 3-D mathematical model of DC casting of superlight LA141 alloy slabs was built using the finite differential method (FDM) and Visual C++ 6.0.The influence of casting parameters,such as the drawing speed,cooling water flow,and pouring on temperature distribution during solidification process was analyzed.The parameters during DC casting process of superlight LA141 alloy slabs were optimized.The optimized pouring temperature is 670-700 ℃,the coding water flow is 0.8-1.0 m3·h-1,and the drawing speed is 1.0-1.25 mm·s-1 .
