Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Fe24Mn0.5C TWIP Steel

More Information
  • Received Date: February 25, 2009
  • The microstructure and mechanical properties of the Fe24Mn0.5C twinning induced plasticity(TWIP) steel were investigated using optical microscope,XRD and universal tensile testing machine. The results show that the microstructure of the tested steel was austenite at room temperature.Deformation twin appeared during tensile test and increased with increasing strain. When the tensile speed decreased the uniform elongation increased lightly, however the yield strength ,tensile strength and elongation after fracture increased obviously.Compared with TRIP590 high strength steel, the energy absorption of the test steel was higher.
