    Effect of Boron on Formability and Wear Resistance of Carbon Arc Hardfacing Layer with Fe-Based Alloy Blocks

    • Effect of boron on the formability and wear resistance of carbon arc hardfacing layer were studied by adding ferroboron into the Fe-based alloy.The results show that the formability of the hardfacing layer could be improved effectively by adding ferroboron into the alloy.The hardfacing layer with 4.01wt%-4.95wt% B could be obtained with good formability.When a proper content of B was added,the hard phases became smaller,the microhardness was enhanced,the amount of the hard phases was raised and the wear resistance of the hardfacing layer was improved correspondingly.The hardfacing layer showed the best wear resistance with about 401wt% boron.
