Preparation of Polycrystalline Diamond Powders and Its Yield and Wear Resistance

    • Taking earthy graphite powders and copper powders as raw material, the graphite-copper material was prepared by powder metallurgy method, and then the polycrystalline diamond powders were prepared by means of shock wave synthesis process. The effect of copper content, graphite powders size, heat treatment and repressing process on yield and wear resistance of the polycrystalline diamond powders was studied. The results show that the yield of the diamond increased with the increase of copper content, first rose then fell with the increase of the graphite size, and the yield was highest when the particle size was 70 μm. The yield slightly increased then sharply decreased with the increase of the heat treatment temperature before repressing, and the yield increased with the increase of heat treatment temperature after repressing. The preparation process had fairly small effect on wear resistance of polycrystalline diamond powders.
