Effect of Carbon and Niobium on Intergranular Corrosion of ASME S30432 Austenitic Heat Resistant Steel

    • The influence of carbon content and niobium content on the intergranular corrosion of ASME S30432 austenitic heat resistant steel has been investigated. When the carbon content increases from 0.058% to 0.110%,the sensitivity of intergranular corrosion is improved, and intergranular corrosion easily happenes.Increase of niobium content from 0.30% to 0.70% benefites the intergranular corrosion resistance.Carbon content show much more effect on the intergranular corrosion than niobium content. When the ratio of niobium content to carbon content exceedes 5.8 times,it could restrain intergranular corrosion.
