    Effect of Rare Earth Element Yttrium on Oxidation Behavior of Laves Phase NbCr2 Alloy at 1100℃

    • Laves phase NbCr2 alloys with 0.07%-1.35% rare earth element Y were prepared by mechanical alloying and hot pressing technologies.The influence of Y content on the high temperature oxidation behavior of NbCr2 alloys at 1 100 ℃ was investigated,and the action mechanism of the Y element was also discussed.The results show that only when Y content was in the right range(0.07%-0.14%),it could slow down the oxidation rate and increase the high temperature oxidation-resistance of NbCr2 alloys at 1 100 ℃,which was attributed to that rare earth element Y improved the adherensive properties of oxide film/substrate.
