Optimizing of Electrostatic Field of Piezoelectric Fiber Composites

Abstract
The electrostatic field distribution of interdigitated electrode piezoelectric fiber composites(IDEPFCs) was analyzed by finite element method.The impact of electrostatic field on poling progress and actuation was discussed.The influence of material constants of polymer around electrodes,polymer’s geometry parameters between electrodes and piezoelectric fibers,electrode width and space on electrostatic field was also studied.The results show that the electrostatic field could be improved much by increasing the conductivity or decreasing the thickness of the polymer around electrodes.In addition,the maximum transverse strain could increase 108 times and transverse stress could increase 43 times.The uniform field and electrostatic field are influenced much by the dimension of IDE too.
