    Erosion-Corrosion of 940 Stainless Steel in 3.5wt% NaCl Solution with Quartz Sands

    • For the tested steels of 940, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 17-4 PH and 9Cr18 stainless steels, the anodic polarization curves in 3.5wt% NaCl solution with quartz sands, erosion-corrosion rates and general corrosion rate in 3.5wt% NaCl solution were tested. The results show that the electrochemical properties, erosion-corrosion resistance and general corrosion resistance of 940 steel were better than those of others. The good erosion-corrosion of 940 steel was due to the high surface hardness and good property of passive film, and the main role of erosion-corrosion was erosion, and the corrosion was could be ignored.
