Fracture Cause Analysis of Lift Sub External Nipple
In order to find out the fracture cause of lift sub external nipple in a well. The fracture surface morphology, chemical composition, mechanical properties, microstructure and force state of the lift sub were analyzed. It is shown that fracture of the lift sub was brittle fracture originated from the quench cracks, which were caused from the mistaken quenching. The insufficient toughness made the cracks grow and lead to the fracture.
