Quasi-static Axial Compressive Properties of Al-Mg-Si Alloy Profiles Aged for Different Times

Abstract
The Al-Mg-Si profiles were aged at 180 ℃ for 30 min, 150 min and 540 min, respectively and then compressed with WAW-E600 test mechine in quasi-static state to study the deformation modes and energy absorption. The results show that the deformation mode of the Al-Mg-Si profiles changed from diamond mode to concertina mode with the increase of aging time. Comparing with the profile aged for 30 min, the energy absorption of the profile aged for 540 min was increased by 78.1%.
