    Failure Analysis of Vehicle Steering Driveshaft Fracture

    • The reasons for fracture failure of some steering driveshaft were analyzed from the tests of fracture morphology, microstructure and chemical composition. The results show that the steering driveshaft broke because of torsional fatigue, and cracks initiated from the surface of the steering driveshaft. The main reason for early failure of the steering driveshaft was the rough machining trace.
