    Effect of Rare Earths on Corrosion Resistance of Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Foam

    • The effects of rare earths on the foaming process and corrosion resistance of aluminum and aluminum alloy foam have been investigated,and the relationship between the rare earths′ content and the corrosion resistance of the aluminum and aluminum alloy foam has also been discussed.There was no exceptional effect of rare earth on the foaming process.When the addition amount of rare earth elements was appropriate,the corrosion resistance of aluminum and aluminum alloy foam was improved.Under the same corrosion condition,the aluminum alloy foam in higher porosity was corroded more seriously.The influence of rare earth on foam′s mechanical properties was unremarkable.
