Microstructure of Carbon Steel/Stainless Steel Clad Plate Joint Prepared by High-Frequency Induction Brazing Technology

    • Carbon steel/stainless steel clad plate was prepared by high-frequency induction brazing technology, and the microstructure of the brazed joint prepared at different brazing temperatures was studied. The results show that the metallurgical bond of carbon steel and stainless steel could be achieved using H62 brass foil as brazing filler metal at 910-950 ℃; element diffusion was observed and island phase formed on the interface. The island phase preferentially formed on the interface of carbon steel/brass, then grew with the increase of brazing temperature and ran through the filler metal layer at last. The island phase had Ni-Cr-Fe phase structure which was the product of diffusion and reaction among carbon steel, stainless steel and filler metal.
