Fabrication and Property of Porous ZrO₂ Coated with HA

ZrO2 porous scaffolds with three-dimensional opening mesh structure were fabrication first by shaping gel method which could cntroll the porosity could by changing the dipping cycles.Then HA coatings were coated on the porous ZrO2 scaffolds with a layer of fluorapatite (FA) as intermediate layer.The as-prepared coatings were characterized by XRD and simulated in vitro.The results show that FA intermediate layer could prevent the chemical reactions between ZrO2 and HA and raise the performance of the coating.The strength of the porous ZrO2 coated with HA was over 7 times of that of the pure porous HA materials.The prepared coating is suitable for cell growth and has good biocompatibility.
