Abstract
Knitted-dapped metal rubber was developed to overcome the deficiencies of metal rubber with low stiffness in practical application and the samples with different density and thickness were manufactured. Static mechanical tests and dynamic mechanical tests were carried out to study the influences of density and thickness on static stiffness of the metal rubber, and the influences of frequency, amplitude and pre-load on dynamic damping characteristics of the metal rubber. The results show that static stiffness of the metal rubber raised with the density or thickness increasing. The frequency had little influence on the dynamic damping characteristics of the metal rubber. With the increase of the amplitude, the dynamic stiffness of the metal rubber decreased and the damping dissipation energy increased gradually. With the increase of the pre-load, the dynamic stiffness and the damping dissipation energy of the metal rubber all increased gradually.
