Catalytic Activity of CuCl Loaded on Modified Coal-Based Activated Carbon during Synthetizing Dimethyl Carbonate

    • The dimethyl carbonate (DMC) was synthetized by direct oxidation and carbonylation of vapor phase methanol process, and taking modified coal-based activated carbon (CBAC) as the carrier, the CuCl catalyst was loaded on modified CBAC by impregnation method, the effects of activator, activation temperature, the mole ratio of activator to CBAC on catalystic activity were studied. The results show that under the conditions that the activator was CuCl2, activation temperature was 800 ℃, and the mole ratio of activator and CBAC to 1∶1, the activity of catalyst loaded by modified CBAC was the best, and methanol conversion, DMC selectivity and DMC space-time yield reached 34.6%, 96.4%, 221.1 g·kg-1·h-1, respectively.
