    Influence of P Modification on the Microstructure and Properties of Sip/ZA27 In-Situ Composites

    • The melt of Al-20%Si alloy was modified after remelting by P,and then mixed with pure zinc melt to fabricate in-situ silicon particles reinforced zinc matrix composites.The microstructure and mechanical properties of the composites were studied.The results indicate that the size and distribution of silicon particles in the Sip/ZA27 in-situ composites which fabricated by mixing the P modified and remelted Al-20wt%Si melt with pure zinc melt were finer than the composite fabiricated by remelting and melt mixing unmodified one.The elongation and tensile strength at room temperature of the composite were higher than the latter.
