Microstructure and Properties of Rotation Friction Brazed Joint of Q235 Steel

    • Rotating friction brazing was used to connect the shaft type Q235 steel workpiece and circular type Q235 steel workpiece by a self-made welding device, and furnace brazing experiment was done for comparison. The results show that temperature on every points of joint could melt down soldering filler metal during rotation friction brazing, and the temperature was uniform distribution. The shape of interface line was different on both sides of the brazed seam, for the side of shaft type workpiece was wavy, and for the side of circular type workpiece was a line. The microstructure at the center of brazed seam consisted of Sn-based solution and Pb-based solid solution, as well as some coarse particles with Sn and Pb composition, but the number of coarse particle in the rotating friction brazed joint was quantity, particle distribution was uniform, which was beneficial to improve the properties of brazed joint. The maximal shear strength for the rotation friction brazed joint was 36.28 MPa.
