Modification of Layered Sodium Silicate Using Stearic Acid Combined with Ultrosonic Treatment
-
Abstract
Stearic acid was chosen as modifier combined with ultrosonit treatment to perform modification of layered sodium silicate based on homogeneous design.Influencing factors such as modification temperature and time as well as mass ratio of stearic acid of layered sodium silicates were studied.Modified layered sodium silicate was characterized by means of optical microscopy,X-ray diffraction,IR and laser particle size analyzer. The results show that the optimal modification condition was at 80 ℃ for 30 min with a mass ratio of stearic acid to layered sodium silicates of 0.8.The modified layered sodium silicate had rare agglomeration and small particle size.Chemical and physical reaction occurred on the surface of layered sodium silicates. The modification reaction did not change the phase composition of layered sodium silicate.
