    Development of Pre-Hardening Die Steel LN17 for Glass

    • The chemical composition of glass die steel LN17 was designed. The process of EAF+LF+VOD+ESR smelting, forging and pre-hardening was used to produce the steel. The microstructure and properties of the steel were analyzed. The results showed that LN17 steel pre-hardening, hardness deviation less than 2 HRC and the organization for the uniform sorbite microstructure and residual austenite of 14Cr17Ni2 steel, a comprehensive mechanical performance has greatly improved.
