Coat Components Optimization and Wearability for Plasma Transferred Arc Processing

    • To improve the wearability of materials,a new alloy powder was produced and weld-surfaced by plasma transferred arc(PTA) processing on Q235 steel specimens. The powder was made on the matrix of Ni-based powder(Ni60) with Cr,Mn and W additions. The orthogonal experiment method was used to find the best composition with the index of “hardness” and the factors of “proportions of Cr,Mn and W”.The best composition was ω(Cr)=10%,ω(Mn)=4%,ω(W)=7%,and with the rest of Ni-based powder. The wear testing results indicated that the wearability of welded coat was improved. With increase of the hardness, the coat was more wearable.
