Build-up Welding on T91 Steel Rotor of Ultra-supercritical Steam Turbine

Submerged arc welding tests on T91 steel being used in the turbine rotor have been done to solve the problem of abnormal wear of the turbine rotor during operation.T91 steel was welded by the method of submerged arc build-up welding using 2CrMo wire and certain welding parameters.The effects of chemical composition on microstructure and performance of the overlay were studied through a series of mechanical performance tests.The results show that the mechanical properties of the overlay were superior to those of the base material by using the submerged arc build-up welding.And the wear resistance of the cladding layer was greatly improved when the component of Cr in the overlay was around 2%.
