Using Solar Energy Heat Treatment to Strengthen the Cutting Edge and Improve the Service Life of Male Mould

Abstract
Splitting failure of 9SiCr cold stamping male mould with the heat treatment of quenching and low temperature tempering occured during work time.The reason was that the integrated strong tenacity of the male mould was decreased although the wear resistance of cutting edge was increased.A new process with whole isothermal quenching first and then solar energy quenching of the cutting edge was developed.The service life of the male mould was increased by eight time and the cost was decreased due to the increase of the strong tenacity of whole mould and the wear resistance of cutting edge.
