Current Status and Development of Light-weighting High Strength Steel Used in Automobiles

Light-weighting is one of the important measures for autos development,so auto industries and steel companies all over the world have been striving to study new high strength sheet steels used in automobiles.In this paper,the properties,classification and application of high strength steels are described;and special interest is put in the development and application of dual phase steels and transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP) steels.
