Reason Analysis for Avalanche Fracture of 60Si2Mn Spring Flat Steel

During the cutting process,60Si2Mn spring flat steel had the avalanche problem.A study was conducted to investigate the 60Si2Mn spring flat steel fracture reason by means of chemical analysis,microstructure testing and mechanical properties testing,etc.The results show that the property of fracture was cleavage fracture.In the spring flat steel,there were a large number of non-metallic inclusions caused the avalanche problem.Under the external force,non-metallic inclusions were the source of cracks which resulted in the crack propagation and led to avalanche fracture finally.
