    Comparison on Effects of Zn-Ni Alloy Coating and Cd Coating on Fatigue Properties of Structural Steel 30CrMnSiA

    • Zn-Ni alloy coating was prepared on 30CrMnSiA structural steel smooth and notched samples via electroplating process.The fatigue limits of the samples with Zn-Ni alloy coating were obtained by staircase method,the fatigue properties of the samples were studied by S-N curves and then to compare with that of the samples with Cd coating.The results indicate that the fatigue limit of the samples with Zn-Ni alloy coating are same with that of the samples with Cd coating under the same cycles,and the samples with differetn coatings own same fatigue life at different stresses.Based on the effects of the coatings on the fatigue proterties of the substrate,the Zn-Ni alloy coating can displace the Cd coating.
