    The Relationship among Forging Parameters, Microstructure and Properties of High Strength TC18 Titanium Alloy Forging in β Zone

    • The TC18 titanium alloy was deformed by conventional die forging. The relationship among β forging parameters, microstructure and mechanical properties of high strength titanium was been studied. The results show that the heating temperature above Tβ(T) and holding time in β zone(t) could be simplified as a new parameter (β forging integrate parameter) ζ.While the value of ψ(reduction of area) and impact toughness aKU descended linearly with the increase of ζ; fracture toughness KIC and fatigue limit σD had a peak relations with ζ; and average grain diameter D had a linear correlation.
