Microstructure and Properties of Stainless Steels Processed by Accumulative Roll-bonding

    • Accumulative roll-bonding(ARB) was employed to produce ultra-fine grain microstructures in stainless steels.Microstructure, mechanical properties and fracture surface were examined. The ARB processed materials had lamellar ultra-fine grains, and the tensile strength was improved remarkably. The tensile strength of the stainless steel could reach 1 060 MPa.Slight necking was found near the fracture tip and there were dimples on the whole fracture surface, indicating that the fracture was ductile.
