    Influence of Magnetic Field Intensities on Microstructure of Al-5%Mn Alloy

    • The solidification of Al-5%Mn alloy in magnetic field with different intensities was tested.In order to investigate the influence of magnetic field intensity on the deposite of Al6Mn phase,the microstructure and phase compositions patterns were tested by using the optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD).The results show that Al6Mn crystals aligned dendritic or strip-shaped structure and distributed uniformly in the matrix without magnetic field.While Al6Mn crystals unceasingly got together and grew up so as to form the orientation along the magnetic field direction in high magnetic field.With the increase of magnetic field intensity,the size of the Al6Mn crystals increased and the extent of the orientation of it also increased.
