    Polystyrene Modified with Nano-montmorillonite by Selectie Laser Sintering

    • Based on selective laser sintering(SLS) technology,polystyrene powders and polystyrene(PS)/epoxy resin EP blended powders were modified with nano-orgnic-montmorillonite(OMMT).The tensile strength and flexural strength of sintered part were studied,and its structure was characterized by XRD and SEM.The results show that the nano-orgnic-montmorillonite is intercalated by PS and PS/EP during the sintering process.The tensile strength and flexural strength of the PS/OMMT and PS/EP/OMMT are remarkably improved than pure PS.The sintered part of PS/EP/OMMT is optimal with the increase by over 139% in the tensile strength and over 108% in the flexural strength.
