    Electroforming Preparation and Properties of Ni/SiC Composites

    • Electroforming technology was used to prepare Ni/SiC composites in the nickel sulphamate bath with SiC as reinforcing particles.The effects of process parameters on SiC content in Ni/SiC composites were investigated by means of Leica Qwin graphics analysis software.The effects of particle content in composites on microhardness were also analyzed by microhardness instrument.FESEM was used to observe the section surfaces and the distribution of SiC in the composites.The results showed that the maximum volume fraction of SiC in Ni/SiC composites was 27% under the conditions of current density of 3 A·dm-2,particle concentration of 50 g·L-1 and agitation rate of 1.5 time/min.In addition,the maximum composites microhardness was 710 HV.
