    Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ultra High Strength 7090/SiCP Composite

    • The microstructure and mechanical properties of the extruded and different heat-treated bars of spray co-deposited 7090/SiCP composite were studied and the heat treatment process was determined.The extruded composite presented fine microstructure and uniformly distributed SiC particles.Under the condition of 470 ℃×1 h+490 ℃×1 h dual solid-solution and 120 ℃×28 h ageing,the tensile strength and modulus of the composite could reach 785 MPa and 100 GPa respectively.The mechanical properties of the dual solid-solution treated composite were more excellent than those of single solid-solution treated composites.The fracture of the composite mainly resulted from the SiC particles breakage and Al/SiC interfacial debonding.
